Privacy Policy

ThreadHub is built to keep AI conversation organization local to your browser whenever possible. This policy describes what is processed locally, what may reach us, and how to contact us about privacy requests.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how ThreadHub handles information when you use our Chrome extension, website, support channels, and related product surfaces. ThreadHub is designed as a local-first reading, capture, annotation, and export layer for AI chat pages you already use.

This policy does not control the privacy practices of third-party AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, or any destination where you export content. Their own privacy notices apply to your use of those services.

2. Information stored locally

Core extension data is stored in your browser. This may include saved bookmarks, copied or exported message snippets, annotations, highlights, prompt templates, folder names, feature settings, and import or export files you create.

Local data stays on your device unless you choose to export it, import it into another browser, paste it into another service, or otherwise share it yourself.

3. AI conversation content

ThreadHub may read visible AI message text on supported chat pages to provide features you trigger, such as Reader Mode, Copy Markdown, Bookmark, Export, Timeline, Message Folding, Highlights, Annotations, and Prompt Library actions.

We do not operate a server-side AI processor for your conversations, and we do not use your AI chat content to train models. The extension is intended to process chat content in the browser for the feature you request.

4. Website, account, billing, and support data

If you create an account, sign in, subscribe to a paid plan, join a waitlist, or contact support, we may receive information needed to provide that service, such as your name, email address, authentication identifier, subscription status, billing metadata, support messages, and basic operational logs.

Payment card numbers are handled by the payment provider you use at checkout. We may receive limited billing records, such as plan, renewal, invoice, and cancellation metadata, but we do not store full card numbers on our own systems.

5. Extension permissions

The extension may request browser permissions that are necessary for the product to work:

  • Host permissions let ThreadHub add its toolbar, reader, timeline, and annotation UI on supported AI chat pages.
  • Storage permission saves bookmarks, notes, folders, templates, and settings in your browser.
  • Clipboard permission is used only when you click a copy action.
  • Tabs or download-related permissions may be used to open saved source conversations or create files that you explicitly export.

6. What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not log every AI chat you open.
  • We do not send your AI conversations to another AI API.
  • We do not read private browser pages outside the extension's supported sites and requested permissions.

7. Service providers

We may use service providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, payments, email delivery, analytics, error monitoring, and support operations. These providers are authorized to process information only as needed to provide their services to us and are not allowed to use it for their own unrelated purposes.

8. Retention and deletion

Local extension data remains in your browser until you delete it, uninstall the extension, clear browser storage, or use an in-product delete or reset option. Exported files remain wherever you save or share them.

Account, billing, and support records are retained only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and keep accurate business records.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information we process. No browser extension, website, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so you should avoid saving highly sensitive information in exported files or shared folders unless you understand the risk.

10. Children's privacy

ThreadHub is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, browser permissions, service providers, or legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide additional notice where required.

12. Contact

Questions or privacy requests can be sent to support@threadhub.app.
